Ozark Inspired Bachelor Party

Ozark is one of my favorite shows on Netflix and I'm betting it is for a lot of you guys too. This a gripping crime saga set in Osage Beach, Missouri where the family relocates after having to leave Chicago. While sadly most of the show isn't actually shot here, there's no reason why we can't use this setting as a backdrop for a thrilling Ozark-themed Bachelor Party of our own.

Frankly, even without the show as inspiration Lake of the Ozarks is a great place to visit for a guys getaway. However, a bachelor’s party is the perfect time to schedule a guys weekend at Lake of the Ozarks

Are you ready for an awesome, Ozarks-themed weekend? There are a ton of things that you can do at the lake. You can laze about on the water or get active. Talk to the rest of your crew and figure out what everyone is in the mood for. Fishing, golfing, every traditional “guy’s weekend” activity that you can think of is available at the lake.

With all that being said, Lake of the Ozarks in the show is portrayed as a back woods red neck resort area that is sorta sleepy and forgotten. While there are communities like this, the lake is actually a busy tourist destination with not just run-down motels and low-end entertainment. In fact, there are some luxury resorts that are as good as anywhere else in the country as well as some of the top national fishing tournaments too.

Ultimately though, its what you make of it and sometimes all you need is a reason to inspire your choice ... even if it isn't reality!

Party On The Lake With a Boat Rental

Experiencing nature doesn’t mean you can’t party. If you want your guys weekend at the lake to be full of drinking, dancing, and meeting new people, it can absolutely be achieved. The lakefront has multiple bars and clubs you can go to.

Of course, partying doesn’t look the same for everyone. You can seek out a quieter night if that’s what suits your group’s mood.

Golf!

The Ozarks covers an area stretching across Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. Visitors can enjoy multiple lush, public golf courses. There are at least a dozen courses in the Lake of the Ozarks area alone.

The most famous is Old Kinderhook, located across the lake.

Visit the Historic Willmore Lodge

The Willmore Lodge is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. Visitors can go to the lodge’s museum. It’s a great place to soak in the history and culture of the area. The observation deck offers stunning views of the lake.

If you want to spend a quiet few hours during your vacation, a stop at the Willmore Lodge can fit the bill.

Lake of the Ozarks State Park

One of multiple state parks located within the Ozarks, the Lake of the Ozarks State Park is a good place to unwind. You and your friends can completely immerse yourselves in nature. Everywhere you look you can see beautiful scenery.

If you want, you can even sleep in the park for a few nights. The park’s campgrounds are very well-maintained.

Ha Ha Tonka State Park

Ha Ha Ha Tonka State Park has its own appeal. Visitors can explore the ruins of a 19th-century castle. It’s an impressive sight that makes a great backdrop for pictures. Of course, you can also engage in normal outdoor activities.

Ha Ha Tonka is known for its unique geological features. You can explore caverns and sinkholes as well as a natural bridge.

Bagnell Dam

Another activity for the history buffs in your group, Bagnell Dam can make for a fascinating visit. You can learn about the dam’s creation. The dam is the reason that the Lake of the Ozarks, a man-made reservoir, exists. When you go here, think about the story of the Snells and their kin. Below all this water is countless acres of farm land and homesteads that were lost forever.

A guys’ weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks can be a blast, especially if you’re a fan of the Netflix show. There’s something to do for everyone. You can enjoy as much or as little of nature as you want. Another great thing about the trip is that you can have a good time without completely draining your bank account. You can sleep in a tent and bring your own supplies to help cut costs.
