A dependable flashlight is an essential tool for any man and I have quite a collection - typically though these are smaller lights designed for carrying while traveling. What I was missing was a big dog light that was good for use out in the yard as well as in spaces where I needed to flood the room - like when fixing a blown fuse at night. The Infinity X1 5000L Dual Power Focusing Flashlight, available at Costco is a great solution for home use as it combines power and versatility to tackle various tasks, whether you're dealing with an unexpected power outage or examining a broken branch knocked down by a winter storm.
This flashlight was a lifesaver over the holidays, lighting up my breaker box during a fuse blowout and making it easy to assess yard damage after a winter storm. Its powerful beam even charged the solar panels on my Christmas lights during testing - proof of its brightness and utility.
As mentioned above, I have a handful of "pocket lights" but I never really thought I needed a big baton-style flashlight. I also assumed that you'd need to spend at least $100 to get something that was more than just a toy. Thankfully, prices have come way down across the board and while classics like Maglight do still command a premium in some circles, brands like Infinity frankly do an amazing job for half the price.

Why Choose the Infinity X1 5000L?
The dual power option ensures you’re never left without light. Use the rechargeable battery for convenience or switch to alkaline batteries when recharging isn’t an option. Its high 5000-lumen output makes it ideal for outdoor tasks, emergencies, or simply lighting up large spaces.
The adjustable focus beam allows you to transition from wide-area lighting to a precise spotlight with a twist. The flashlight’s compact, durable design and lightweight construction make it suitable for rugged environments while remaining comfortable to handle.
What Could Be Improved
Honestly, it's tough to nit-pic here about things that could be improved, but in the effort to make this as honest a review as possible, it would be nice if the beam could focus more tightly. While this excels at filling up a workspace, sweeping across the backyard, and even in medium spaces like setting up Christmas lights at night ... for walking the dog in the woods, it would be nice to have something that worked well with a tight beam reaching out a few hundred feet in front of me.
However, at less than $50 I have no complaints here. This is a great tool that would be welcome in any guy's buggout bag and has earned a place in my road trip gearbox as well. In fact, while they sent me this for review ... I may just go and buy another one so I have one in my car as well as in my emergency kit at home.
Priced at $39.99 at Costco, this flashlight delivers exceptional performance for its cost. It’s an invaluable tool for home, outdoor adventures, or emergency preparedness.
