2025 Lexus UX 300h F SPORT Review

Let's be honest - most compact luxury crossovers struggle to balance sporty handling and refined comfort it's a delicate balance but Lexus continues to do a great job at it. I'm even more convinced of this after spending some quality time with the 2025 Lexus UX 300h F SPORT. Starting at $37,490, it's an attainable entry point into the world of luxury automobiles that doesn't feel like a compromise, nor does it feel like you're driving a sporty hot hatch designed for kids!

As you'd expect, though, from a brand like Toyota / Lexus - the lower the price point something is on the luxury tier, the closer it will be to the pimped-out top-of-the-line version of the mass-market brand. This is absolutely true here as well. If you are looking at the Lexus UX, you should also take a look at the Toyota Corolla. These two vehicles are very similar - though each of them fits the brand identity well.

However, at a ~$40k price point, you have to be willing to accept that the UX isn't going to be as smooth, as quiet, as feature-packed with every tech bell and whistle as its far more expensive stablemates.

That doesn't make this car bad - I truly enjoyed driving it and infact was going to take my wife on a weekend getaway to the Ritz Carlton in Cleveland but family stuff intervened and we had to unfortunately stay home. However, this car would have been an absolute blast driving around the hills and twisty roads of Geauga County but welcomed back to the Ritz's valet without question.

Performance That Makes the Daily Grind Fun

The big news for 2025 is the upgraded hybrid powertrain, now pushing 196 horsepower through an innovative fifth-generation hybrid system. The UX 300h F SPORT on my favorite back roads showed its true colors. The Active Variable Suspension on the F SPORT Handling model transforms this compact crossover into something special. It dances through corners with precision while maintaining that signature Lexus smoothness that makes your morning commute feel less like work.

Looks That Turn Heads

Lexus didn't hold back on the styling. The aggressive spindle grille, sharp LED running lights, and those split-five-spoke alloy wheels in black and machined finish give it serious presence. My tester came in the striking new Copper Crest exterior color, which catches the light in ways that make more expensive German rivals look almost boring. The F SPORT package adds black roof rails and a black roof that create a custom look straight from the factory.

Interior: Where Sport Meets Sophistication

Inside, it's all about that perfect balance. The F SPORT-exclusive sports seats (available in a killer Black and Circuit Red combo) hold you just right when you're attacking corners, but they're still comfortable enough for long highway stretches. The new 12.3-inch multi-information display comes standard on F SPORT models, and the cockpit feels more like a sport sedan than a crossover.

Tech That Makes Life Easier

The UX 300h comes loaded with the latest tech, including wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, five USB ports for all your charging needs, and an available head-up display that keeps your eyes on the road. The Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 brings peace of mind with features like Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Lane Tracing Assist that make highway cruising a breeze.

Real-World Practicality

Here's where the UX 300h really shines for the daily grind - it sips fuel like a compact while delivering the utility you need. With an estimated 41 mpg combined (AWD), those lunch runs and weekend getaways won't break the bank. The E-Four all-wheel drive system means you're ready for whatever Mother Nature throws your way.

Final Verdict

The 2025 Lexus UX 300h F SPORT threads the needle perfectly for guys wanting something more elevated than a hot hatch but not ready to drop the big bucks on larger luxury SUVs. It's got enough sport to make you take the long way home, enough tech to keep you connected, and enough style to stand out in the office parking lot. Plus, that hybrid efficiency means more money in your pocket for the things that matter - like that weekend camping gear you've been eyeing.

For the young professional who wants to make a statement without screaming about it, the UX 300h F SPORT delivers a compelling package that's hard to ignore at this price point. It's proof that you don't have to sacrifice fun for practicality or luxury for value. This is the kind of daily driver that makes you look forward to your commute - and isn't that what it's all about?
