It's fall and that means that it's apple season and there is no shortage of amazing recipes to celebrate the harvest. Two of my favorites are Caramel Apples and Pecan Pie, so why not combine the two great flavors into one amazing dessert!
One of my favorite things to do is try the new M&M's flavors that come out with the different seasons. So, as soon as I got home, the first thing I did was pour a mixed bowl of M&M's Pecan Pie and M&M's Peanut Fall Harvest to snack on while creating my latest culinary masterpiece.
Ingredients:
- One box of Pillsbury™ Moist Supreme® Caramel Apple Cake Mix
- One Can of Pillsbury™ Supreme Creamy® Caramel Apple Frosting
- One bag of M&M's® Pecan Pie
- One Bottle of Snapple® Apple
- One Jar of Mott's® Original Applesauce
- Three Eggs
OK, this is perhaps one of the easiest recipes I've ever made but you'll be a rockstar when you serve it to your friends!
Directions:
First off - ignore the directions on the box, you're going offroad here but I'll keep you safe!
Add one cup of Snapple, one cup of Mott's® applesauce, and three eggs into a large mixing bowl followed by the dry ingredients from the box.
Stir till the mixture is completely smooth and then pour into a baking pan.
Pour M&M's Pecan Pie over the cake batter as desired.
Place the mix in a pre-heated oven at 350 degrees and check the cake at about 34 minutes by sticking a toothpick in the cake. If it comes out clean then it's cooked - if not, put it back in for a few more minutes!
After the cake has cooled completely, apply Pillsbury Caramel Apple frosting to the top, add extra M&M's® Pecan Pie and serve.
Because you've substituted applesauce for oil and Snapple Apple for the water, you're going to have a much denser cake than you would otherwise. This is normal, so don't worry ... just enjoy it!
There you have it! It's as delicious as it is easy to make.
