Irish Whiskey has experienced somewhat of a renaissance in recent years and while it is undeniably linked to St Patrick's Day celebrations across America, the reality is that Irish whiskey distillers are working hard to innovate and change the perception of their craft as simply a seasonal libation. We are particularly impressed with the aging process delivered by Glendalough Double Barrel since it takes a classic Irish whiskey but then let's it age in American oak Bourbon barrels and finish in Spanish oak Oloroso Sherry barrels for that ultimate sense of refinement that defines this unique expression of Ireland's treasured spirit.
Today, we're toasting to tradition with a spotlight on Glendalough Double Barrel, an exquisite single grain whiskey that commands global acclaim.
This Irish gem undergoes a dual maturation process, initially resting in American oak Bourbon barrels, then transitioning to Spanish oak Oloroso Sherry barrels, infusing it with unparalleled depth and complexity.
Born from a deep-rooted passion for crafting extraordinary spirits, Glendalough Whiskey is the embodiment of quality, designed to elevate the moments that matter most. At the heart of Glendalough Distillery's ethos is a desire to bring people together, celebrating Irish heritage through the shared enjoyment of their meticulously crafted whiskey.
For purists seeking an authentic taste of Ireland, the distillery's Pot Still whiskey offers a harmonious blend of vanilla, toasted oak, and spice at a welcoming price point. For those looking to indulge in an even more refined experience, the 7-Year-Old Single Malt with a Mizunara Finish presents a luxurious option, marrying traditional Irish whiskey craftsmanship with the exotic influence of Japanese Mizunara oak.
As they say, this ain't your grandaddy's Irish whiskey!
