Founded in 1906 on poker chips, whiskey and wild women, the Golden Gate – Las Vegas’ original casino – is undergoing its first major expansion in 50 years. A hangout for Frank, Sammy and Dean during the Rat Pack era, the landmark property in downtown Las Vegas will keep its authentic Vegas vibe while adding a spectacular 35,000-square-foot, five-story luxury tower with 16 hotel suites, including two penthouses that will encompass the entire 5th floor.

Vegas may be one of those places that is overwhelming when you try to figure out where to go for the ultimate mancation. We had the opportunity recently to explore a fantastic choice that we heartily recomend you consider as well, The Palazzo.

In addition to being a great casino hotel, The Palazzo is also home to Lagassi Stadium, which may well be the pinacle of perfection when it comes to sports bars!

Last weekend I had the pleasure of being invited to check out the recently remodeled ShowBoat Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, which happens to also house the Atlantic City House of Blues. This was my first time visiting the "Vegas of the East" so I wasn't sure what to expect, but I did have a fantastic time and this hotel would make a great spot for a man trip. There is so much to share about our trip that I'll have to put it in several different parts rather than cramming it all into one gigantic article.

As I mentioned in Part 1 of my Atlantic City article, Harrah's invited Man Tripping to visit the recently renovated ShowBoat Hotel and Casino.

While heading there, I wasn't really sure what to expect from Atlantic City ... would it have that carnival atmosphere like Vegas and Reno with different themes competing for your attention, or would it be strictly a place to gamble like the riverboat casino located next to my office (Grand Victoria Casino in Elgin).

ShowBoat Atlantic City seems to be between themes right now, the hotel generally like it's name suggests is certainly a New Orleans themed venue, but it is tasteful and too tacky.
