Casinos are a great place to base your mancation and they are also great even as a quick guys weekend away.

With fantastic restaurants, entertainment, bars, and the excitement of winning enough money to buy your wife a great present when you get home, casinos should be at the top of your mancation destination wish list.

Atlantic City Guys Weekend - ShowBoat and House of Blues

showboat-logoLast weekend I had the pleasure of being invited to check out the recently remodeled ShowBoat Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, which happens to also house the Atlantic City House of Blues. This was my first time visiting the "Vegas of the East" so I wasn't sure what to expect, but I did have a fantastic time and this hotel would make a great spot for a man trip. There is so much to share about our trip that I'll have to put it in several different parts rather than cramming it all into one gigantic article.

ShowBoat Hotel and Casino Atlantic City

ShowBoat Casino - Atlantic City lobbyAs I mentioned in Part 1 of my Atlantic City article, Harrah's invited Man Tripping to visit the recently renovated ShowBoat Hotel and Casino.

While heading there, I wasn't really sure what to expect from Atlantic City ... would it have that carnival atmosphere like Vegas and Reno with different themes competing for your attention, or would it be strictly a place to gamble like the riverboat casino located next to my office (Grand Victoria Casino in Elgin).

ShowBoat Atlantic City seems to be between themes right now, the hotel generally like it's name suggests is certainly a New Orleans themed venue, but it is tasteful and too tacky.
